iTotal Tricompartmental Knee Resurfacing Device

A total knee replacement is considered the standard of care for older patients with end stage osteoarthritis. But traditional knee replacements requires your surgeon to choose from a limited range of standard sized implants and to cut your bones to fit the implant. For younger patients or patients with advanced osteoarthritis who are interested in bone preservation, a resurfacing alternative may be a viable option.

All orthopedic implants can loosen or wear over time, placing younger patients or those with high demands on their knee at risk of multiple surgeries over their lifetime. Significant bone cutting from the initial procedure often makes future surgeries difficult or impossible without resorting to more invasive revision systems.

The ConforMIS iTotal was developed as a resurfacing alternative for patients with osteoarthritis in all three compartments. Using our proprietary iFit technology, ConforMIS creates a personalized total knee implant that offers unique advantages versus traditional total knee replacement.

The iTotal uses your scan data to resurface, rather than replace the end of your thigh bone, providing an anatomic fit with far less bone cutting than traditional options. Patients are able to preserve the knee for future treatment options and may also experience faster recovery time and reduced post-operative pain. In addition, our unique iJig instrumentation  provides a custom fit to help improve alignment and provide a more natural feel to the knee, both of which can reduce implant wear and extend longevity.

iTotal Features:

  • Manufactured for each patient, based on their individual anatomy
  • Less invasive, less traumatic total knee procedure
  • Bone and cartilage preserving
  • Potential for less post-operative pain and shorter postoperative recovery
