iJig™ Pre-Navigated Instrumentation
iJig instrumentation represents a next-generation approach to the challenges associated with traditional orthopedic surgery. Designed to work with our patient-specific implants, iJigs replace multiple trays of instrumentation with a small set of disposable, patient-specific cutting and placement guides that simplify surgical technique and improve reproducibility.
Built-in axis alignment and image guidanceiJig pre-navigated instruments are designed utilizing the same imaging data as our implants. Surface contour data from the patient's joint ensures that each iJig is precisely sized and shaped to match the targeted anatomy in only one location and with one orientation. Cut angles and drill holes are placed by the surgeon not by using complex instrumentation in multiple steps, but by maneuvering each iJig until it finds its anatomic markers and self-seats into position.
Simplified surgical techniqueBy incorporating the 3D anatomy and the biomechanical axis at the design stage, each iJig set comes with built-in axis alignment and image guidance. This approach reduces the number of required instruments and steps in the surgical technique and improves reproducibility. iJig-guided surgery eliminates the need for more invasive intra-medullary alignment methods and expensive computer assisted navigation systems.
Improves staff efficiencyIn addition to simplifying the surgical technique, iJig instrumentation also creates efficiencies for nurses, operating room staff, and hospitals. iJig instrumentation comes sterile in a small package along with the implant. The single-use, disposable cutting and placement guides require minimal handling before surgery and no reprocessing after surgery, saving the hospital hundreds of dollars and facilitating faster OR turnover. |
