CNC Programming Coder, 2nd Shift

Job Summary:

The CNC Programming Coder will be responsible for the re-coding of programs for CNC machining centers in a medium-volume manufacturing environment.  The technician may be asked to support other processes or production lines as demand and production schedules dictate.

2nd Shift – Mon – Fri, 3:00pm-11:30pm.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong, internal working relationships across ConforMIS.
  • Understand the objectives, responsibilities, and mission of the Operations department and works towards those goals.
  • Prioritize and plan work activities; adapt for changing conditions.
  • CAM programming of patient specific implants that utilizes 3 axis machining centers
  • Re-Coding of NC programs utilizing Mastercam X6 CAD CAM software.
  • Maintains file storage structures of NC Programs.
  • Delivers constant flow of CNC programs to the CNC Machining Cell.
  • Maintains open communication lines between programming and the manufacturing floor and manufacturing engineering to assure the highest levels of quality are being maintained during the machining process.
  • Performs timely and accurate transactions of workflow in ERP system
  • Assists in the investigation and implementation of corrective actions on product and process failures
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures including safety regulations, personal protective equipment requirements, Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions and Good Manufacturing Procedures.
  • Supports engineering activities such as process validations and equipment qualifications.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.


  • High school diploma or equivalent. Technical education preferred
  • Preferred experience in a medical device and/or regulated environment.
  • Demonstrated English reading and writing skills
  • Familiarity with ISO Standards and Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Familiarity with Oracle (or equivalent) ERP systems
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with inspection equipment (calipers, micrometers, comparator)
  • Experience in a lean manufacturing environment a plus

  • Familiar with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Familiar with general machining techniques and practices.

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to lift, pull, and push up to 40lb
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Capable of working in machining areas with necessary personal protective equipment (eye protection, dust mask, nitrile gloves).
  • Busy work environment with frequent interruptions
  • Ability to work overtime, extended hours and weekends as business demands.
  • Must be aware of hazards within the company; adhere to quality and safety standards established by FDA and other regulatory agencies.
  • Able to work in changing environments (reduced lighting, increased noise, temperature variances, unpleasant odors, dust etc.)
