Director, Marketing Communications & Demand Generation

Job Description:

The Director of Marketing Communications & Demand Generation is responsible for the overall strategy and execution of inbound and outbound demand generation programs across all channels. With the primary objective of developing and accelerating the sales pipeline, programs should directly contribute to the achievement of customer acquisition, retention, and revenue goals. This position requires the use of data and analytics, including lead scoring/grading, to improve existing programs and identify new opportunities. This role will work closing with Sales Operations and Leadership, Product Management, and other functions along with outside partners and vendors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with Sales Operations and Sales Leadership to optimize the end-to-end lead management process
  • Develop and implement demand generation programs across the sales cycle to generate new inquiries, identify opportunities to expand existing business, and qualify prospects
  • Build strategy and execute scalable cross-channel marketing programs and campaigns, including online (SEM/SEO), email, mobile, print, in-person, social media, and marketing automation
  • Implement key programs such as lead scoring/grading, email drip campaigns, and nurturing
  • Integrate lead generation with CRM or other sales tools
  • Manage development of print, digital, and video collateral aimed at all audience segments
  • Oversee exhibits & events team to manage booth presence, pre-show promotion, and post-show follow-up for trade shows/events
  • Ensure the proper tracking and performance reporting of all marketing campaign metrics across channels, including online, advertising, trade shows, and medical education programs
  • Develop actionable insights from analysis to make recommendations on key business strategies
  • Research, vet and implement new advertising channels
  • Manage third party vendors and department budget


  • College degree in related field; MBA preferred
  • 10+ years’ work experience involving marketing, advertising, marketing analytics preferably in a medical device or biomedical setting

  • Ability to create and manage cross-functional teams and projects with many moving parts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytical skills – ability to review data to identify trends and to improve business results
  • Experienced with digital marketing tools, including social media, content management systems, e-mail marketing
  • Experience with marketing automation and CRM software
  • Demonstrated proficiency in design software such as InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator
  • Proficient in Excel and quantitative approaches to data analysis
