Infrastructure Manager

Job Summary:

The Infrastructure Manager will be responsible for providing technical leadership in planning, coordinating and maintaining the company’s IT hardware and systems infrastructure and performs system and network administration functions. In addition, the position provides IT support for ConforMIS personnel and is responsible for internal web/database software development projects.  This role has 2 direct reports.

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage, direct and support the IT team. Hire, train, develop, teach, coach, mentor, motivate, discipline, and reward staff members.
  • Meet regularly with direct reports to review performance, identify any issues and set expectations of goals.
  • Plan, coordinate and provide technical leadership in installing, maintaining and upgrading hardware and software, programming and systems design, development of computer networks and implementation of internet and intranet sites.
  • Manage the upkeep, maintenance, and security of networks.
  • Design backup protocols and disaster recovery plans and manage backup systems.
  • Analyze the computer and information needs of the company from an operational and strategic perspective and determine immediate and long-range hardware/software requirements.
  • Evaluate and make recommendations regarding acquisition of new hardware and software systems which would improve system usability, performance, and integrity.
  • Coordinate with company personnel, vendors, and others, to solicit cooperation and resolve problems with computer systems.
  • Keep informed of technical and product developments through technical and professional literature, courses, workshops, and conferences.
  • Plan, design, implement and validate database and web-related software development project.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • BS in computer science or equivalent degree.
  • Demonstrated ability to monitor the work of direct reports to ensure quality, accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Experience in object-oriented software design/development using Java and C++.
  • Scripting languages: Perl, VB Script, batch scripting.
  • Database design and development.
  • Experience in Windows and Linux software development (MS Visual Studio, Eclipse).
  • Experience with web development technologies (Apache, Tomcat, JSP, HTML, JSF).
  • Experience with software development life cycle.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and maturity in working with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%, both domestically and internationally as needed.
