About the Doctor
Dr. Gomoll is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Born and raised in Munich, Germany, he received his medical degree from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universitaet, with additional training in Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery in Cape Town, South Africa, and Oxford, UK. Dr. Gomoll completed a post-doctoral research fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital before joining the Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Residency Program at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital.
Dr. Gomoll is fellowship-trained in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine (Rush University) and specializes in arthroscopy of the hip, knee and shoulder. He also performs procedures such as knee ligament reconstruction, rotator cuff repair and shoulder replacement.
He has an active clinical and research interest in cartilage disorders, and performs cartilage repair procedures, osteotomies and meniscal transplantation through his affiliation with the Cartilage Repair Center.
