About the Doctor
Andrew Jeffers, MD. was one of the select high school students who was accepted into the University of Michigan Medical School out of high school. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Michigan and his medical degree from the University of Michigan. He then completed an five-year residency program in Orthopaedic Surgery at University of Michigan which included staffing University of Michigan football games and attending to the injured players.
After his residency, Dr. Jeffers was asked to stay on as a teaching faculty in the Adult Reconstruction (aka Joint) Section of the Orthopaedic Surgery Section at the University of Michigan. He also had a concurrent appointment as the Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Ann Arbor Veterans Affairs Hospital, where he was able to clear a five-year backlog of veterans requiring joint replacements within two years.
Dr Jeffers then joined a large orthopaedic practice in the Pasadena area but was drawn to the Ventura County area because his wife, Dr. Lynn Jeffers, grew up in the area and they moved to be closer to family.
Dr. Andrew Jeffers has recently served as the Chief of Surgery at St. Johns Regional Medical Center and currently serves on the Surgery Committee. He also serves on many leadership committees within the hospital including search committees, operating room efficiency and safety, and strategic planning sessions. He has also helped to institute clinical pathways at the hospital regarding perioperative care of joint replacement patients.
