Dr. Radnothy is a board certified orthopedic surgeon practicing in Central Florida’s Lake County. He was raised on a farm in South Lyon Michigan, the son of an osteopathic family physician. He graduated from college at Oral Roberts University in 1983. He earned his medical degree in 1987 after graduating from the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He was accepted into the orthopedic surgery residency program at Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital (an inner-city level one trauma center located just north of Detroit). After completing his orthopedic surgery residency program, Dr. Radnothy decided to move to Florida where he began a solo orthopedic surgery practice in Lake County joining the medical staff at nearby Florida Hospital Waterman. Dr. Radnothy has consistently been one of Florida Hospital Waterman’s busiest and most popular surgeons on staff. Although he treats a wide variety of orthopedic problems, his primary focus has always been on joint replacement, particularly of the knee and hip. Outstanding surgical skills, years of experience and an easy-going warm bedside manner has earned Dr. Radnothy both high ratings as an orthopedic surgeon as well as a reputation throughout the Lake County area and beyond, as one of the best joint replacement surgeons.

Dr. Radnothy – Knee Surgeon Specialist

Dr. Jon H. Radnothy D.O. has been serving Central Florida and Lake County area as an orthopedic surgeon for almost 25 years. As a leading surgeon at Florida Hospital Waterman, in terms of both seniority and surgical volume, Dr. Radnothy has built and maintained one of the areas most successful orthopedic surgery practices. He has performed over 20,000 successful surgeries in his career including thousands upon thousands of joint replacements. Throughout his career he has introduced many of the latest innovative joint replacement surgical techniques to the Lake County area. Partial knee resurfacing, muscle/tendon sparing knee & hip replacement, makoplasty robotic knee and hip replacement being just a few of the procedures first introduced to Lake County by Dr. Radnothy. The ConforMIS customized knee implant is the most recent. As far as Dr. Radnothy’s “bedside manner” and his ability to communicate with his patients, it is second to none!

The ONLY Truly Customized Knee Implant – ConforMIS

The ConforMIS customized knee implant is unique in the knee replacement industry at this time. Today, knee replacement surgeons commonly put in “custom knees” made by a variety of orthopedic manufacturing companies. The term “custom knee” in fact however can be a bit deceptive. The reason is this: when the term “custom knee” is thrown about by an orthopedic company advertisement or a knee replacement surgeon, what is “custom” about the surgery is not the implant itself but the cutting blocks (the cutting blocks, which the surgeon uses to cut the bone, are made by obtaining a CT scan or MRI of the knee before surgery).

The one big exception however is ConforMIS. ConforMIS not only uses “custom” cutting blocks, but also then goes a step further – they make the actual knee implant itself on an individual basis for each patient’s very own knee. ConforMIS is the only company that offers this option. In fact, all other knee replacement implants today are mass produced by the hundreds of thousands in an assembly line manner. The ConforMIS knee implant however is made one at a time via 3D printing techniques (of the same metals and at the same cost!). To be clear, non-custom knee replacement implants typically do very well especially if they are put in the proper patient for the proper reasons by an experienced knee replacement surgeon using sound surgical technique. The real question is this: do you want a knee implant put in your knee that was made specifically for your knee or do you want one that was made to fit the knees of thousands of other people? If you prefer one made for your knee and your knee only, ConforMIS is your only option.
