Dr. Chertow is a board certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip, knee, ankle and shoulder arthroscopy, minimally invasive and computer-assisted joint replacements, and sports medicine at Orthopaedic Surgery & Rehabilitation Associates (OSRA). He is currently the head team physician for LaSalle University in Philadelphia, Pa, the director of Sports Medicine at Temple Jeanes Hospital, and team Physician for the Philadelphia Revolution Hockey team.
Dr. Chertow received his Bachelors of Science (BS) degree from The Ohio State University where he was a varsity wrestler for the nationally ranked Buckeyes and named to the All Big 10 scholar athlete team. He obtained his Medical Doctor (MD) degree from Marshall University in his home town of Huntington, WV. He then completed a General Surgery Internship at The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio and an Orthopedic Surgery Residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, New Brunswick, New Jersey. Following residency he completed an extra year of training undergoing a Fellowship in Orthopedic Sports Medicine at the World Renowned Hughston Clinic, Hughston Orthopedic Hospital in Columbus, Georgia which was the birthplace of Orthopaedic Sports Medicine. He is one of the few Sports Medicine Fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeons in the area.
Dr. Chertow enjoys sports and was an all-state soccer player and wrestler, 2x state wrestling champion, and High School All-American. He was the Assistant Orthopedic Doctor for numerous professional, college, and High School teams including the Columbus Cottonmouths Southern Professional Hockey Team, Columbus Catfish Professional Baseball Team, Columbus Lions Professional Arena Football Team, Assistant Team Doctor for Georgia Southwestern State University, Columbus State University, and served as the Assistant Orthopedic Team Doctor for Rutgers University.
Dr. Chertow operates at Holy Redeemer Hospital and Medical Center, Holy Redeemer Ambulatory Surgery Center, Jeanes Hospital, and the Huntingdon Valley Surgery Center.
