Conformis Announces Latest Generation iTotal Customized Total Knee Replacement Implant System

Upgrades include improvements to customized implants and iJig patient-specific instruments

Bedford, Mass. – March 24, 2015  Conformis, Inc., a medical technology company providing customized total knee replacement implants for patients, today announced a new generation of the company’s iTotal® CR (cruciate-retaining) total knee replacement. The new generation iTotal CR was designed to improve procedural efficiency by further reducing the number of intraoperative steps required during a knee replacement surgery. The company will demonstrate the latest generation iTotal CR at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) meeting in Las Vegas, March 25-27, 2015.

Conformis’ iTotal CR is the only individually sized and shaped, or customized, total knee replacement product available today that is designed and manufactured specifically to match each patient’s unique anatomy. In clinical studies, the iTotal CR customized implant has demonstrated greater patient satisfaction, greater stability and more natural kinematics compared to traditional, off-the-shelf knee implants.

“Conformis is setting a new pace for innovation,” said Philipp Lang, MD, CEO of Conformis. “The latest generation iTotal again demonstrates our ability to respond to the needs of our customers with better solutions for patients, surgeons and hospitals. Our scalable business model differentiates our company and allows us the agility and speed to bring new technology to patients rapidly.”
