Chief Executive Officer & President
Mr. Augusti has served as our President and Chief Executive Officer and as a member of our board of directors since November 2016. Prior to joining us, Mr. Augusti was Integra LifeSciences Corporation’s Corporate Vice President, and President of Orthopedics and Tissue Technologies. Mr. Augusti was responsible for the management of the Orthopedics and Tissue Technologies global division, which includes extremity implants, tissue products, and the Private Label business.
His responsibilities included U.S. commercial leadership, global portfolio management, evaluation of corporate development opportunities and overall strategic direction. He joined Integra in April 2014 as Corporate Vice President and President of Orthopedics and Tissue Technologies, and brings over 25 years of executive management experience in medical technology. Prior to joining Integra, Mr. Augusti served as Chief Executive Officer at Bioventus LLC, from May 2012 to August 2013, and was a member of the company’s Board of Directors during the same period. Prior to that Mr. Augusti spent nine years with Smith & Nephew, from April 2003 to April 2012, in a series of leadership roles, including President of Smith & Nephew’s Biologic Division, where he was appointed to lead Smith & Nephew’s new biologics initiative. He also served as Smith & Nephew’s President of the Orthopaedic Trauma & Clinical Therapies Global Business and Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Trauma business. Prior to that, from 1987 to 2000, he spent 13 years at GE Medical Systems, where he held various sales, marketing and strategic management roles, both in the U.S. and internationally. Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Weiner has served as our Chief Financial Officer since April 2014. Prior to joining us, Mr. Weiner spent 18 years at Palomar Medical Technologies, Inc., or Palomar, a company engaged in research, development, manufacturing and sales of medical laser devices for aesthetic treatments, prior to its acquisition by Cynosure, Inc.
He served in a number of roles at Palomar, including corporate controller, vice president of finance and, finally, chief financial officer, a position he held for 11 years. Prior to Palomar, Mr. Weiner was the chief financial officer at Hygenetics Environmental Services, Inc., an environmental consulting company, and worked in public accounting for Ernst & Young and Wolf & Company. Senior Vice President, Quality and Regulatory Affairs
Mr. Emmanuel O. Nyakako has served as our Senior Vice President of Quality and Regulatory since March, 2017. Prior to joining us, Mr. Nyakako managed his QA/RA consulting company between July 2016 and March 2017. Prior to that, Mr. Nyakako was Corporate Vice President of Quality and Regulatory Affairs at Hologic Inc., between April 2015 and July 2017 managing Global and Corporate functions of Quality and Regulatory Affairs. He was the Senior Vice President of Quality, Regulatory and Clinical Affairs at Zimmer-Biomet from Sept. 2012-April 2015 at the time when Zimmer acquired Biomet, he led the combined organization.
Mr. Nyakako spend over 6 years at Flextronics Corporation as Vice President of Quality and Regulatory Affairs, 7 years in Nypro, Inc. (currently Jabil) as Director of QA/RA. Mr. Nyakako spend time at J&J, Coltene-Weldant, Biomet Inc., in his over 36 years in manufacturing, quality and regulatory affairs career progression. Senior Vice President, Product Engineering
Mr. Slamin has served as our Senior Vice President, Product Engineering since October 2007, with responsibility for overseeing all product engineering and development of our knee implants. Before joining us, Mr. Slamin spent more than 30 years in research and development at Johnson & Johnson’s Orthopaedic Division, now DePuy, where he was responsible for product development activities. Mr. Slamin is the holder of seven patents related to knee implant engineering. Mr. Slamin has an Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, Massachusetts
Vice President, Clinical Affairs
Mr. Quartulli has served as our Vice President, Clinical Affairs since April 2015. From July 2011 to March 2015, he was our Senior Director, Clinical Affairs. Prior to joining us, Mr. Quartulli served as a consultant for Globus Medical from January 2011 to Jun 2011 following their acquisition of Facet Solutions, Inc., a manufacturer of spinal implants, where he had served as director of clinical affairs from March 2006 to December 2010. Prior to that, he served as a clinical manager at NDO Surgical, Inc. and as a senior clinical research associate at Boston Scientific. Mr. Quartulli has over 18 years of experience in clinical research which began at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, where he advanced through positions of increasing responsibility in clinical affairs roles. Mr. Quartulli has a B.S. in Biology from Siena College.
Vice President, Operations
Mr. Kilgallen has served as our Vice President, Operations since the August 2017 asset acquisition of Broad Peak Manufacturing. Mr. Kilgallen’s 15+ years of Operations Management experience in the medical device and total joint arthroplasty industry was instrumental in the development and refinement of the implant finishing processes at Conformis. Prior to joining Conformis, Mr. Kilgallen was a partner in a start-up manufacturing facility in Cork, Ireland, developing special processes and providing solutions to Stryker, Depuy Synthes and Zimmer Biomet’s flagship brands. In 2006, the Cork site was acquired by publicly-traded orthopedic contract manufacturer Symmetry Medical. Mr. Kilgallen led the operational integration effort as well as multiple strategic manufacturing transfers to the Irish site from both the United States and United Kingdom. During his 10 years as General Manager in Ireland, Mr. Kilgallen spearheaded the Lean Transformation of both the Cork, Ireland and Penang, Malaysia sites for Symmetry Medical. Mr. Kilgallen has successfully managed medical device manufacturing facilities in the U.S., Ireland and Asia during his career, overseeing the production of more than 1 million implants to date.
