Mark Augusti

Chief Executive Officer & President

Mr. Augusti has served as our President and Chief Executive Officer and as a member of our board of directors since November 2016. Prior to joining us, Mr. Augusti was Integra LifeSciences Corporation’s Corporate Vice President, and President of Orthopedics and Tissue Technologies. Mr. Augusti was responsible for the management of the Orthopedics and Tissue Technologies global division, which includes extremity implants, tissue products, and the Private Label business.

His responsibilities included U.S. commercial leadership, global portfolio management, evaluation of corporate development opportunities and overall strategic direction. He joined Integra in April 2014 as Corporate Vice President and President of Orthopedics and Tissue Technologies, and brings over 25 years of executive management experience in medical technology. Prior to joining Integra, Mr. Augusti served as Chief Executive Officer at Bioventus LLC, from May 2012 to August 2013, and was a member of the company’s Board of Directors during the same period. Prior to that Mr. Augusti spent nine years with Smith & Nephew, from April 2003 to April 2012, in a series of leadership roles, including President of Smith & Nephew’s Biologic Division, where he was appointed to lead Smith & Nephew’s new biologics initiative. He also served as Smith & Nephew’s President of the Orthopaedic Trauma & Clinical Therapies Global Business and Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Trauma business. Prior to that, from 1987 to 2000, he spent 13 years at GE Medical Systems, where he held various sales, marketing and strategic management roles, both in the U.S. and internationally. Mr. Augusti received his M.B.A. from the UCLA Anderson School of Management, and his B.S. in Computer Science and Economics from Duke University.

Denise Pedulla

Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary

Ms. Pedulla has served as our Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary since March 2022. In this role, she is responsible for leading Conformis’ legal, governance, and compliance functions. Ms. Pedulla brings to this role nearly 30 years of diverse legal experience in the areas of SEC compliance and reporting, corporate governance, legal contracting, corporate financing, global ethics and compliance, FDA and health care regulation, labor and employment, intellectual property (IP) portfolio strategy, and enterprise risk management.

Prior to joining Conformis, Ms. Pedulla served as the General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for NeoGenomics, a global clinical laboratory, pharmaceutical services, and bioinformatics company. During her more than five year tenure at NeoGenomics, her responsibilities included overseeing mergers and acquisitions, commercial contracting, SEC compliance, IP protection and litigation, global regulatory compliance, and all other aspects of legal support.

Ms. Pedulla graduated cum laude from Boston College with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and from Suffolk University’s School of Law with a Juris Doctorate degree. She also earned a Master’s degree in Public Health at Harvard University, with a concentration in health law, policy, and management.

Michael Fillion

Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Fillion has served as our Chief Operating Officer since April 2022. In this role, he is responsible for all manufacturing operations in the US and India. Mr. Fillion brings about 30 years of experience in manufacturing and operations with a strong focus in precision metal products, medical devices, continuous improvement, and strategic business planning.

Prior to joining Conformis, he served as the Executive Vice President, Global Operations for Tecomet, a contract manufacturing company with a focus in medical devices. During his tenure at Tecomet, Mr. Fillion’s responsibilities included overseeing 17 manufacturing locations in five countries and spearheading a Lean transformation resulting in improving on-time delivery, reducing lead-times, as well as significant productivity savings. Prior to that, he held various leadership roles at The Weir Group PLC, Precision Castparts Corp., Firth Rixson LTD, and Federal Signal Corporation. Mr. Fillion earned his Micro MBA Certificate at the University of Alabama, and his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

Terrance Wong

Senior Vice President, Engineering & Regulatory

Mr. Wong has served as our Senior Vice President, Engineering & Regulatory since July 2022. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing Regulatory Affairs, knee engineering, hip engineering, and private label projects. Mr. Wong has more than 20 years of experience in engineering, and he has been a significant contributor to the Conformis product portfolio, including his design and development work on partial knee implants, the iTotal CR and iTotal PS knee implants, and iJig instrumentation. In 2019, Mr. Wong was appointed SVP, Hip and Private Label Engineering. In that role, he led hip development at Conformis, along with the private label contract business that was created in October 2019 with the execution of our strategic deal with Stryker, relating to our patient-specific instrumentation (PSI) technology for use with Stryker’s Triathlon total knee system. In 2018, Mr. Wong assumed the role of SVP, Strategic Operations, with his primary responsibility to align all of Conformis’ manufacturing programs, CAD operations, and other systems to ensure optimization and execution.

In 2015, Mr. Wong was promoted to VP of Engineering, with responsibility for concept development, verification testing, cadaver testing, validation (design, process, supplier, etc.), support Regulatory filings, QSR documentation, manufacturing transfer and sales/marketing support. He joined Conformis in 2008 as a Senior Design Engineer, and subsequently progressed to Director and Senior Director of Product Development in 2012 and 2013, respectively.

Prior to Conformis, Mr. Wong served as Senior Design Engineer at Innovative Spinal Technologies for one year, Product Development Engineer at Brooks Automation for five years, Senior Mechanical Engineer at BTU International for four years, and as Mechanical Engineer at Thermo Fisher Scientific for three years. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at Columbia Engineering.

Eric Rickenbach

Senior Vice President, U.S. Sales

Mr. Rickenbach has served as our Senior Vice President, U.S. Sales since October 2019. He has more than 20 years of experience in sales and marketing, and is well-versed in positioning total joint solutions to surgeons and hospital systems. Immediately prior to joining Conformis, Mr. Rickenbach served at Stryker for eleven years. In his most recent role as a General Manager at Stryker, he was responsible for a successful branch turnaround. Overseeing Joint Reconstruction, Trauma, and Extremities in the San Diego area, he was able to develop a branch with historical negative sales growth into the company’s fastest growing branch. Before this, he served as Stryker’s Sales Manager in Pennsylvania and then Arizona for more than six years, leading a sales force of 15 employees, and achieving significant sales growth via a combination of strategic relationships, sales skills, talent selection/development, surgeon education, patient education, practice marketing, contracting, operations, and finance. He began his tenure with Stryker as a Medical Sales Representative. Before joining Stryker, Mr. Rickenbach served as Vice President at RBach Office and School Furniture for two years, and as Vice President of Sales at Tri-R Incorporated for four years.

Mr. Rickenbach earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation and Parks Management at Penn State University, where he played center, guard and tackle on the Penn State varsity football team.

Jeff Kogl

Vice President, Business Development

Mr. Kogl has served as our Vice President, Business Development since November 2019. He has more than 25 years of experience in corporate portfolio strategy, business development, and market development. In his current role, Mr. Kogl is responsible for investor relations, and for developing and implementing the sales and marketing strategy for Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) accounts.

Prior to joining Conformis, he served as SVP, Corporate Development & Strategy for two years at Vyaire Medical, an $800 million respiratory business that was formed when Becton Dickinson sold its mechanical ventilation products, respiratory diagnostic solutions, and associated consumable products to Apax Partners. At Vyaire Medical, Mr. Kogl managed the overall strategic planning process, and led all corporate development activities, including due diligence, contract negotiations, and integration planning.

Directly prior to Vyaire Medical, Mr. Kogl served as VP, Business Development & Strategy at Entellius Medical, where he managed the company’s strategic planning process, analyzed adjacent market segments for market entry, and coordinated the company’s business development initiatives. Before this, he served as VP, Strategy & Corporate Development at Tornier, Inc, which offers products to treat orthopedic conditions of the shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand. There, he led the strategic planning process and served as a lead team member behind the 2015 merger with Wright Medical in 2015. Prior to Tornier, Mr. Kogl served at Medtronic, Inc. for nine years, progressing to Senior Director, Corporate Portfolio Strategy. In that role, he developed an overall assessment framework to consistently characterize the intrinsic and synergistic value of Medtronic’s portfolio of businesses. He was also responsible for the commercialization strategies for three emerging businesses, including conducting primary and second market research, establishing surgeon advisory panels, and developing early sales and distribution strategies for U.S. and Western European geographies.

Mr. Kogl earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at the University of Minnesota’s Curtis L. Carlson School of Management, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Stanford University.

Christine Desrochers

Corporate Controller

Ms. Desrochers has served as our Corporate Controller since July 2020. In this role, she is responsible for overseeing all accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, internal controls, technical accounting, and financial reporting. She joined Conformis as Assistant Controller in 2018 with more than 15 years of accounting experience and 3 years of experience in the medical device industry. During her time with Conformis, she has worked to improve our month-end close process and to drive efficient monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
